Chester — Privacy Policy

Last updated 14 September 2026 · Applies to the Chester Android app (com.clickbitdigital.chester) and the Chester web version.

Chester is a card game. It has no accounts, no advertising and no analytics, and it does not send anything about you to ClickBit Digital. This policy explains the small amount of information the game does handle, and where that information actually lives.

The short version. We do not operate a server that receives your data. Everything the game stores is either on your own device, or on the device of whichever player is hosting your Wi-Fi game. We cannot see any of it.

1. Who we are

Chester is published by ClickBit Digital, Dhaka, Bangladesh — clickbitdigital.com. For anything in this policy, contact us using the details at the end.

2. What Chester does not do

  • No account, sign-in, email address or phone number is ever requested.
  • No advertising, and no advertising or attribution SDKs are present in the app.
  • No analytics, crash reporting or telemetry of any kind.
  • No access to contacts, photos, files, camera, microphone or location. The app requests exactly one Android permission, INTERNET, and uses it only for Wi-Fi play.
  • No third-party services are contacted. The app contains no external requests at all; even its fonts are bundled inside it, so it runs with no internet connection.
  • Nothing is sold, shared or transferred to anyone.

3. What the game stores on your device

All of this stays in the app's own storage on your phone or browser. It is removed when you uninstall the app or clear the site's data.

WhatWhyHow long
Sound effects on/off, music volumeSo your audio preference survives a restartUntil you change it or uninstall
The Wi-Fi host address you last typedSo you do not retype it each time you joinUntil you change it or uninstall
Your current room code and access tokenSo a reload does not drop you out of a game in progressCleared when you close the tab or leave the room

4. The name you type

When you create or join a Wi-Fi room, Chester asks for a name so other players can tell whose turn it is. That name is whatever you type — there is no requirement that it be your real one, and it is never checked, linked to you, or kept once the room ends. It is visible to the other players in that room, and to nobody else.

5. Wi-Fi and LAN games

Chester's multiplayer runs over your local network. One device — a phone running Chester, or a PC running the included local server — acts as the host. Every other player talks directly to that device.

While a room is open, the host device holds:

  • the room number and the seats in it,
  • the names players typed,
  • the state of the game in progress (which cards are where),
  • a random access token per player, which is what lets that player act on their own turn and nobody else's.

That information never leaves the local network and never reaches ClickBit Digital. It is deleted when the last player leaves the room, and in any case within 24 hours.

A room number is short so it can be read aloud. It is not a secret: anyone already on the same Wi-Fi who knows the number can join an open room, exactly as they could sit down at a real table. Do not host a game on a network you would not want strangers joining from.

6. The hosted web version

If you play Chester through a website we operate rather than over your own Wi-Fi, the same room information is held instead by that service, which runs on Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare D1. It holds only what is listed in section 5 — no account, no contact details, nothing that identifies you beyond the name you typed. Rooms expire and are deleted after 24 hours, and are deleted immediately when the last player leaves.

As with any website, Cloudflare processes the network request itself (including your IP address) in order to deliver the page. That is Cloudflare acting as our infrastructure provider; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.

7. Children

Chester is a card game suitable for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either. There is nothing to buy, no chat, and no way to contact another player through the game.

8. Gambling

Chester is played for points only. There is no wagering, no purchasable currency, no prizes and no real-money element of any kind, and none is planned.

9. Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to look up, correct or delete on your behalf. Everything the game stores is under your own control:

  • Uninstalling the app, or clearing the website's site data, removes everything listed in section 3.
  • Leaving a room removes you from it and frees your seat immediately.

10. Changes to this policy

If Chester ever gains features that do handle personal information — advertising and in-app purchases are the likely candidates — this policy will be updated before those features ship, and the change will be noted in the app's release notes. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
